SNS: The best of the best ideas for a Kid’s Harry Potter Party

Last September my sister helped orchestrate this awesome Harry Potter Birthday Party for our niece Clair.  She took what I think are the best and most easy to replicate ideas.  If you are crafty and have a lot of time on your hands I am sure you can do all of these and more- much better!  But our goal at Sunday Night Supper is to be realistic so anyone can make them.  We selected the easiest and most cost effective projects that added a little flair to a young girl’s birthday.

First off we used some die cuts from the store to dress up a hutch in the dining room.  In true “Sunday Night Supper” style, my mother added ribbons and photos of Clair to the mix to personalize it.  She is also always big on the candy or dessert table, and this got adequate attention.

There were gummy frogs, golden snitches and there was even this original creation of my mom’s:  Wizard hats made out of Bugles.

We also used an edible marker to make faces on these “Howlers” fashioned out of crescent roll dough.

Start by folding the crescent roll dough into envelopes.

Then add the faces with edible markers-

Speaking of envelopes, we utilized the whole letters from the fireplace scene to add some pizzazz to our mantle, with additional letters hanging from the dining room light.

Each envelope was sealed with an official wax seal bought as an early gift to the Birthday Girl.

The bathroom even got a touch of the theme with one of the easiest projects by far!  Simply print a black and white photo of Myrtle out and attach it to your vanity mirror with a secret message!

And finally, because every kids party deserves some balloons, we took these white ones and drew owl faces on them with black sharpie marker.

Like I said, these are not elaborate party decorations.  These were fairly simple and cost effective  touches to enhance the theme.  Another great Sunday Night Supper September Birthday Party!
