Although it was almost impossible to pick only 5 features from our current Showcase Home in Suamico to call my favorite, I narrowed it down so I could share a quick sampling of some of the interior details and design that went into this custom build. There will be more on this amazing project next week including some photos of the exterior, the covered porch and garage!
So for now enjoy these interior features that really turned heads during last weekend’s Showcase tour!
The natural light
The great room is a generous space in this open concept design, but the real show-stopper are the large windows with pond views across the entire back of the house.
The tin ceiling
The ceiling over the kitchen island got a very special treatment that drew everyone’s attention up! An inlay of silver pressed tin was added to a framed and plastered border. The owner referred to the process of making selections for this build as “the house that Pinterest built” and this idea was straight off the boards of Pinterest!
Reclaimed barn wood wall
Still hot right now is the use of a barn wood accent wall. This house had subtle touches in very significant ways. From the backing of their bench area in the mudroom to the single wall in the powder bath, the trend was a perfect accent without feeling overplayed.
Master suite lighting
I think one look at this master bedroom chandelier says it all. A smaller matching fixture hangs over the chairs in the sitting area.
But if this isn’t enough to cause lighting envy, check out the not one- but two– glamorous lights used in the walk-in master closet!
The coffee bar
I could go on and on about how much I love the simplicity of this all white kitchen, the beauty of that faucet and the super cool wine fridge and black stainless Kitchen Aid appliances…but the truly unique feature that I think is super smart and was almost a last minute add-
The coffee bar. Easily tucked behind slide out cabinet doors when not in use!
And there you have it! An easy to compile list of my Five Favorite Features from this year’s Showcase Home! Join me next week as I share more on the covered porch with a view, the most asked about garage floor application in the history of garage floors, and how we used Sherwin William’s paint color of the year!
Also- if you are digging any of the décor in this Showcase Home you will want to check out Sue at Thornberry Cottage! She made me want this whole look-
for my Easter Table this year!
After all, spring is right around the corner!
