Seven Reasons to make Olde Country Store Antiques a stop for your holiday shopping!

Right down Hwy 54 between New London and Waupaca you will find a favorite shopping experience of mine-

Olde Country Store Antiques

E 6690 WI-54, New London

Here’s Seven Reasons why this should be one of your holiday shopping stops this year! Let’s start with-

This Vintage Truck

Any place that greets you with a vintage truck decked out with a Christmas tree on the back is worth checking out!

Their inviting wood awning is the perfect place to start shopping as the holiday themed entrance introduces you to red and green painted benches and rusty galvanized steel buckets with holiday bows.

Their new addition is a dream space!

Complete with a glass garage door, rusty metal ceiling and a wood speed boat for sale, this space is a fresh new pallet for their growing inventory of automotive collectibles. This area was recently added to their shop this year so it is a great excuse for a visit if you haven’t been by in a while!

Ideas for the otherwise hard to shop for!

Now, gift hunting in this area is going to be successful for a certain kind of recipient. Someone who is nostalgic and can appreciate old gas cans or vintage advertising from a brand they remember. Someone that is a car or tractor enthusiast that can recognize a part or piece turned into something else. These recipients are usually hard to shop for in general because they have everything they need so surprising them with something more whimsical can be a great thing!

The touches of holiday trees will put you in a festive mood!

From the traditional to the silver tinsel trees to the white ones that greet you as you enter the space… I have never wanted a car themed tree more than now. I always thought it would be a cute idea, especially for our Mill Street property, and these are so simple and festive!

They are known for their primitives!

Throughout the store you will see fine examples of antiques effortlessly mixed with new merchandise. Some of the antiques have been refinished or accessorized to give it that great found-object-art-project appeal, but what remains at the heart of the shopping is a feel for the primitive antiques that are a collectors dream.

Their holiday decor makes great gifts!

I frequent this shop in all seasons and to see it completely decked out in holiday decor was a fun experience! The winter pictures, Santas and pine garlands popped up in every display. All of these are seasonal offerings that will surely be put away come spring, but for now they are all great gift opportunities for anyone who loves decorating for Christmas.

There’s so much charm built into the building

I love a shopping experience in an old building or a historic location so for a newer structure to offer that same warm and lovingly worn atmosphere is quite unique. The owners have put the time and effort into creating a place with an array of textures on the walls and ceilings that make the building feel like it was constructed from historic pieces. Reclaimed tin with chipped paint, rough sawn wood as wall cladding and warm tongue and groove ceilings cover every surface as you meander through a store that has nooks and crannies built with old window sashes and stained glass. You feel like you have to walk through twice just to see it all!
