Six Unexpected Gift Ideas at Urban Evolutions
I pop in Urban Evolutions in Appleton from time to time and their showroom is always inspirational, but I would never have thought of them as a place for holiday gift ideas.
Was I ever surprised at my recent stop! I could not believe the amount of Christmas spirit bursting out of every furniture display. Every color scheme you could imagine was represented from classic red and white to pastel pinks and sea foam green. Who knew this would be the place to pick up that quirky little holiday gift for the hard to shop for!?!
Here’s Six unexpected gift ideas at Urban Evolutions!
Vintage Ornament Wreaths
These beauties were all over the store and at first glance you might find yourself appreciating the cluster of colors and use of Christmas balls, but as you study each closer you will see there is more to them than that. You will see other vintage finds woven in.
These details take a simple decoration and elevate it to an heirloom treasure of found objects that could become a staple piece to pass down through the generations.
Arrangements made with Holiday Memories
In a delightfully similar way these vintage tins are being accessorized with all kinds of holiday spirit to create one of kind centerpieces. Something for the vintage lover, the nostalgia seeker, the decorator that favors that “old fashion Christmas” flair.
Vintage Glassware
I think vintage glassware is always a fantastic option for a gift. Especially if they match a collection the recipient is working on expanding.
These Leather Trees
I would love to start my very own leather tree forest. The idea is simple enough and the impact of having different fabrics represented, those with high graphic appeal like the black and white hounds tooth or the heavy woolen texture make the idea of gathering these together so much fun. This is one of those ambiguous gifts you could give to almost anyone.
Motawi Tiles
These Motawi tiles are not a seasonal installation here at Urban Evolutions. They have a prominent display near the main counter and are always a favorite of mine. The cardinal tiles would make a great gift. They are universally recognized as a bird of winter time and especially loved for their symbolism around remembering loved ones that are no longer with us for the holidays.
Little Houses
Now- I could not help myself and did buy one of these as a gift for my mom. They were all so darling that it was hard to choose between them. The backside of each has a slot that can accommodate a small Christmas light, allowing the windows and doors to light up. The miniature trees are made from acorn caps and everything is adorned in a glitter snow that makes them all the more delicate and whimsical. A reasonably priced (and sized) side gift to add to a gift basket or a small token of appreciation for a teacher or co-worker.

And there you have it! My quick list of gift ideas as we countdown the last few days of shopping before the big day!
On one last bonus note-I quite enjoyed these quirky little elves in bright cheery colors, the adorable blue mugs with gold handles and the red and white cones striped like candy cane Christmas trees on this table.
I picture this being used for brunch at a snowy little cottage, one that is quaint and whitewashed with a potbellied stove blazing in the corner and open rafters overhead adorned with garlands and red bows.
A sweet little holiday image to tuck away along with all the other goodies bringing sparkle and cheer to Urban Evolutions this year!
Happy Shopping!
