Bear vs Dragon: An April Photo Story
While out walking the other week we encountered the subtle remains of winter and a little bit more…
We came upon a scene that would be a mystery for us if not for the snow that was still upon the ground behind the balsams.
The dragon, that once hung in the pines, became a toy for a newly woke bear passing through.
The dragon was created and hung there by a deer hunter who had used the land for a few years and wanted to leave a little something behind to make us all smile.
We enjoyed seeing the dragon, made from driftwood and white leather, as it endured against all seasons and conditions. The deer hunter has since passed from this earth, which made the dragon a little reminder that life is precious and temporary here.
And now nature has reminded us again that you may weather the storms but when your time has come, and in this case- when the bear has awoken- it may be time to give up the dragon.
The snow is gone now. I have yet to gather the pieces of leather or move the driftwood body.
But I will.
We all move on when we are ready.
