Another door opens…
When I made the decision to leave MDH to pursue some personal goals, I never imagined I would find another job that would encompass my interests and utilize my talents the way building new construction homes did. I assumed I would take some 9-5 sales position that kept me busy, earned me an honest wage and gave me the flexibility I knew I would need when I started a family. But somehow I was in the right place at the right time and I was offered something that suits me as well as building new construction homes does. I now work for a company based in the Fox Cities that specializes in kitchen and bath remodels, whole home renovations, additions and outdoor living spaces.
Of course remodeling has always been near and dear my heart. The opportunity to meet people trying to transform their dated, worn out and unloved houses into places they can get excited about coming home to again- was right up my alley! My role is to schedule appointments with potential clients to see their projects, consult on a preliminary design and work up an estimate to complete the job.
Basically I get to walk into houses, both old and new, and do what I always loved the most about construction: problem solve. I get to help people see the potential in their homes and share their vision for how a remodel can improve the life they will live there. In a nutshell, it is everything I didn’t even know I was looking for in my next career! The job is also an outside sales position, which means no set hours or mandatory office time. I create my own schedule and work from home when I don’t have appointments. The flexibility, especially while trying to finish up my own home remodel project, has been amazing!
I am thrilled to be a part of a team and to continue to stretch and grow in my career goals. It was a good time for a change and I believe everything happens for a reason. One door closes and another one opens…
*UPDATED: March 31st, 2023. I have parted ways after 4.5 years with this company. More doors to come!*
